"Pray It Forward" Challenge

"Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." -Mark 11:24

Thank you Jesus that we have direct access to the Father through prayer. It's one of our most powerful tools within the Kingdom of God. At my church, one of our associate pastors recently made this statement, "Sow where you want to go." Our main pastor added another twist by saying, "Sow where you want to grow." Today I offer a challenge to each of us; a challenge to "Pray It Forward."

Think about what you need in your business or ministry right now. Is it wisdom? More sales? Clarity of ideas? A mentor? A specific opportunity to open up? Someone to partner with you? A new skill? New clients? A sense of purpose? Whatever it is, pray it forward.

Let me explain...Don't wait until something good comes your way to pay it forward, as we've seen in movies, PRAY it forward, sow it now! Sow prayer into someone else's life and business for what you need. Bless them in the area in which you need a blessing from God. By doing this, you are sowing into others, and others can sow into you.

Here is what you can do:
- Define your need.
- Pick 2 business women of faith.
- Send them a prayer note - specifically about what you need, but praying it for them.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to set up a profile at KBWA (if you haven't already). We offer a free "intro member" level, and there you can easily select 2 women to pray for and send them a note. Or, maybe you already have 2 people in your network or church in mind. Either way, please consider taking our Pray It Forward challenge this month.

I'd love to hear feedback from you on this, and how it has impacted lives! I am picking my 2 ladies to pray it forward to now...

Vision Boards - Faith Boards

…They shall write a description of it with a view to their inheritance. Joshua 18:4 (KJV)

As believers in God we are called to write things down, make them plain and have faith that ‘it’ will come to pass. Notice though that there is an action involved, before inserting your faith, the action is writing it down. We are shown examples all through the word where the instruction to writing out our course, (vision, life-map, and view) is key to having a fulfilling life.

Vision Board step 1:
1. Start with 2009: When we start small, with a single year, we begin to open up our minds and space for more. Getting totally clear on the shorter term helps to evolve the plan for the long term. Focus on what you are believing God to do in 2009 for your family, business and life.

1 Kings 3:10 ... “And if you stay on course, keeping your eye on the life-map and the God-signs as your father David did, I'll also give you a long life." (Message)

What a powerful word, not sure about any of you but…I am believing for a long life and if keeping my eye on my “life-map” is part of what will bring that to pass for me, I darn well better know what that map looks like! Also, if God has given me the clear instruction in his word, and I know His word to be the living truth, whom am I to sidestep the simple action of writing out my life-map and making it plain?

Vision Board step 2:
Write it down (in whatever style is most comfortable) the vision that God has given you for 2009. You can journal, write single words, short sentences and even poems – the idea is to get it on paper.

Stay tuned for more! www.KBWomen.com

2009 Planning?

Happy 2009 Everyone,

At Koinonia Business Women, we are certain that 2009 is a year of opportunity and favor for all those who will take advantage of what God places in front of them. According to Tammy, she heard that the first 22 days of a new year will set the tone for the rest of that year. Wow - interesting thought.

At Koinonia Business Women, we have an exciting project planned for our Christian businesswomen's group meeting on the 20th. Each lady is going to create their own 2009 "Faith Board" (otherwise known as vision boards, goal boards or dream boards). Even if you are not in the South Puget Sound (Western WA) region, you can still follow what we are up to by receiving our free e-Zine called *BLING*, specifically for Christian women in business. Not only that, but we will soon be offering "Faith Board" kits so that anyone anywhere can post their dreams in a visual way.

So, what are you believing God for in 2009? Give that question serious consideration this week. Otherwise, 2009 will start to slip away without goals or vision. As we know from the Bible, where there is no vision, the people perish.

Blessings to you!

Inspirational Quotes

Blessings to you -

Would you like to help with a project? We are collecting inspirational quotes and short thoughts to encourage and uplift Christian women in business.
I'd venture to say that all of you creative, intelligent, dynamic ladies have some inspirational quotes or tid-bits of advice to share with other Christian businesswomen. Here are a few examples of what we're looking for to get your creative juices flowing:
  • Can you even count each grain in one handful of sand? God’s thoughts towards you are more numerous than the sands of the sea.
  • To be the most effective, moment by moment focus your attention and thoughts on one thing at a time.
  • You have an advantage. You have access to power beyond yourself!
Please reply to this post with any quotes that you'd like to offer. Please make sure they are your original quotes, or you can post a favorite of someone else's as long as you include their name. If we choose to include your quote, we will also include your business name/website address as well wherever we use your quote!

Questions? E-mail us now. Thank you

What a Group!

Wow - we had a great Koinonia Business Women's meeting last night! There was wonderful diversity in ages and in businesswomen types - Business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, executives, managers, independent agents, and more.
The discussion time was rich, starting with Tammy's teaching on the "sling-shot" effect in our lives, leading to how to patch "cracks" that happen as we're challenged and stretched by personal growth. The atmosphere was encouraging, interactive, safe, and genuine.
Are you coming next month? Our next group meeting will be held Tuesday, November 18th in Olympia. Location TBA soon. RSVP now at http://www.kbwomen.com/.

Persecuted for Your Faith?

As a Christian businesswoman, I recently experienced some online persecution on a social networking site. Here is the irony - I was hoping to get feedback from other Christian business owners on the challenges they experience. With the abrupt hostility I faced, my own question was answered!
We in the U.S. experience "persecution" on a much smaller scale (usually) compared to Christians in other countries, where they experience financial, physical and even legal persecution for their faith. However, what we deal with is real none-the-less. Anti-Christian attitudes, unfair treatment, ignorance, slander, prejudice, and more rarely, attacks on property are realities of Christian life in the modern-day USA.
Realize this - the offenders, at the core, are against God, not us as individuals.
What can we do? Pray. Forgive. Do not let our hearts be troubled. Overcome the offense. Seek God on how to respond or if to respond at all. Sometimes the antagonist is actually seeking answers about God.

Are you wondering what I did? I did not respond - it was futile. These folks were questioning, yet not really wanting answers. "Light" and just the mentioning of "Christian" was offensive to their darkness. In this world we will have troubles, but He gives us His peace to see situations and people through His perspective. And now this situation can be shared to encourage others to press on towards the prize, no matter how many others want to trip you on the way!

Our Inaugural Meeting!

Hello friends,
The first live meeting held by Koinonia Business Women was this week! We had women there from various aspects of the business world - even aspiring entrepreneurs.

At the end of our meeting time, we received feedback like this:

"This group is a God-send. An answer to my prayers."

"I need this group. I work with an office of all men, so this fellowship and time of refreshing from the Word is great!"

"I'm so excited to have the opportunity to join and be a part of this organization. Being around excellent people and learning from everyone inspires me."

Last night, Tammy and I shared our vision and extended an invitation to over 100 women at a large, Olympia church's women's event. Join us now! It's an exciting time for the Koinonia Business Women's organization. You belong here.
