Do You SHINE?

Greetings Women of God!
We want to share something that you may be interested in knowing about.

Coming up this November, Tammy and I are attending a very interesting business conference in Las Vegas, full of entrepreneurs from around the world. Although this is not a Christian or spiritual event (and Las Vegas isn't our most favorite place), the business knowledge and strategies that will be shared here will be nothing short of AMAZING.

If you are a small business owner, solo-entrepreneur, internet marketer, coach, consultant, etc., please consider coming with us. It would be an investment, but it is ALWAYS worthwhile to spend money, time and effort to gain the necessary knowledge you need to succeed and to "get wisdom", as the Bible implores. The knowledge here will be strictly business focused, but how many know that is imperative knowledge for us as Christian business women to have!! Mentors and people who have already "been there, done that" help us get from here to there in less time, avoiding more pitfalls, give us ideas, and provide encouragement and a clear path.

When you have a spare few minutes, click the graphic below, then watch the video that comes up on that page (turn your volume down just a bit).

We encourage each of you to use savvy, sound business practices combined with the power and principles in God's Word. Keep in mind while watching, that this is a secular event, advertising in a money-focused way. While money is nice to have, it's not the main reason why we do what we do. However, we want to do what we do in the most effective way possible, influencing, reaching and helping as many people as we possibly can. We're sure you share that same desire.

Want to come? If you feel compelled to gain this kind of knowledge, gain some new business ideas and strategies and meet other successful business owners, join us at "shine!"

Blessings to you,
Krista & Tammy

Great Local Businesswomen's Meeting!

Hello friends,
We had a wonderful time at our live Olympia Koinonia Business Women's meeting last night. Welcome to new attenders Chris Creekpaum and Diana Wise! Our discussion touched on what Christian businesswomen want and need, how we can create opportunities to network together, more about KBWomen Radio, what business skill building topics are of interest right now, as well as answering individuals' questions about their current business challenges.

Tammy and I met last weekend to hash out some upcoming plans for the Koinonia Business Women's organization. Although we are both busy entrepreneurs with other ventures, Koinonia Business Women is becoming something we must focus on (and want to!!) to develop the organization's huge, exciting potential. This is truly where our hearts are! Out of our meeting (and last night's meeting) came several things:

  • Koinonia Business Women will become a membership-based organization. Several added-value benefits are listed below.
  • Spend more time promoting members on KBWomen.com, e.g., every member will have profiles on KBWomen.com (search engines seem to like our site and current members have been 'found' in search results because of their ads in our *BLING* e-zine or because they were listed as a 'featured member' in *BLING*).
  • More emphasis on networking with each other.
  • We may create workshops for members, by members, to attend free (others can pay to get in) on important business topics, skills or other fun business expo events.
  • Members will receive audio files with great faith-based business info from experts who we interview.
  • KBWomen Radio may switch to 45 min rather than 30. KBWomen Radio has some AMAZING guests scheduled for 2009.
  • Create specific business owner groups to do deeper, individualized business strategizing.
  • Set up an online prayer request system.
  • Have a "members only" online community.
  • Start our live group #2 in the Tacoma area.
  • In the future, we will launch KBWomen's groups nationwide/worldwide.
Thoughts? Comments? We'd love to get some feedback on these ideas. Even if you are reading this from somewhere other than Western Washington, there are ways that you can be involved with Koinonia Business Women! Sign up to receive our e-Zine called *BLING*, listen to KBWomen Radio (schedule), sign up for our business builders mastermind/business strategies group (meets via webinar/teleseminar), advertise your business or service on KBWomen Radio, in *BLING* or on our website, or consider starting your own Koinonia Business Women's group meeting in your area (coming soon). No expertise required, you just need to invite people and love on them!

Thanks!
Krista & Tammy

Can God Bless the Work of Your Hands?

It's an interesting question, right? God says He will in many different scriptures. However, there are specific things potentially mixed with "work" which He cannot bless, such as:

  • Lying, because He is truth,
  • Laziness, because He gives us the power to get wealth,
  • Lust, because He loves self-control,
  • Selfish desires and fleshly ambition, because He cares for people and commands us to do the same,
  • Pride (unteachable attitude or boastfulness), because He says He will lift up the humble,
  • Indecision or unfulfilled promises, because He Himself makes promises and has covenants,
  • Poverty mentality, because He's waiting to pour out the storehouses of Heaven,
  • Bitterness, because He freely forgives you,
  • Unfaithfulness, because He is faithful,
  • Deceitfulness, because things done in secret will be brought into the open,
  • Justifying wrong actions, because He searches and knows our hearts, and
  • Worldly wisdom, because His ways are true wisdom.

We say "work" with quotes because your work is not solely what you get paid to do. It can include serving, a volunteer ministry, what you do at home for your family, any kind of effort you put forth (to of course include jobs, businesses, etc.). There is a character/attitude and a work ethic that is a very necessary ingredient of God being able to bless the work of your hands.

Keep coming back for more on this topic! Scroll down to subscribe to our Blog RSS feed and get alerted each time we post. Blessings...

Welcome to Koinonia Business Women's New Blog called "BLING"!

What is Koinonia Business Women?
Koinonia Business Women (KBW) is an organization originally created by two Christian business women in partnership for a joint purpose. We are "Building & Empowering Today's Christian Businesswomen".

What is this Blog for?
Ongoing conversation, encouragement, business skill building tips, Godly wisdom, and updates on KBW event information. We shift perspectives in thinking so that women stop under-living and start performing to their own personal greatness.

What does BLING stand for?
Building, Leading, Inspiring, & Nurturing Godly businesswomen! We liked the meaning behind BLING's word-play and we just like sparkly bling stuff too, so it was a perfect fit!

Who is this Blog for?
Professional women, aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, ministry leaders, executives, women who run/manage a business for someone else, and women in business in general.
Some of you ladies may be 'none of the above' (right now). However, if you feel you belong here anyway - welcome!

What does the word Koinonia mean?
Hearts in fellowship with God and with like-minded believers: Expressing our depth & richness in joint participation.

Where can I get more information?
You can visit www.KBwomen.com, and www.koinoniabusinesswomen.ning.com for more information!
