Savvy Business Strategies Workshop Review!

Hello Friends,

Just a quick report about our fun business workshop in Tacoma, WA last week! It was a great success!

Here are a couple of photos of some the ladies working hard on creating their elevator pitch. OK, that didn't sound quite right... What I meant to say was that EVERYONE worked hard on creating their elevator pitches, and these photos show some of the ladies!! If you weren't able to make it, but are curious about what we covered, here was the workshop link: www.kbwomen.com/workshop.htm.

We've received some really good feedback about the workshop. One thing that we've realized since, is that there are several supporting topics that need to be thoroughly reviewed. Coming in late June, we'll be diving into these important business topics on a 5-week, 5-session teleseminar series. Get more details HERE. You can participate from anywhere via phone!

We look forward to getting together with all our Koinonia Business Women soon. Thank you to Amy, Trisha, Chris, Deborah, Lori, Kathy, Brooke, Linda, Stephanie, Chonita, Sharris, Laura, Emily, Carly, and to Mary & Julie (who couldn't make it after all) for participating in the workshop last week! Thank you again to the Metropolitan Apartments for the fabulous workshop venue!

Blessings to you, Krista & Tammy

Networking Meeting Re-Cap & KBWomen Radio Info

Hello!
Wow, last night's Koinonia Business Women's meeting in Olympia was so great! Had several new folks join us - Chonita, Margo, Carla, & Sharris - welcome!

Here is a recap of our meeting for those of you who were unable to make it:
We had an excellent topic of discussion - overcoming limiting beliefs and negative self-talk. We all struggle with it at some level. Tammy brought up a great example from her childhood, about being labeled as a poor writer and bad at English. That stuck with her until she was 18, when a teacher helped to alter that belief.

Next, we discussed and updated everyone about www.TheWallofPrayer.com. It's going global!

FYI - Our typical May meeting will be replaced by a business workshop on May 19th. The 3-hour workshop will be held in Tacoma (at an amazing venue) for $34. Topics include:
  • Creating an effective online business presence
  • Using social media for business
  • Defining your business to convey a clear and concise 'elevator pitch' to others

Registration will be open next week, so stay tuned. Men are welcome to attend. Seating is limited to 30 participants, max.

People had some great business questions last night, as well as some personal struggles to discuss. I think we achieved at least 20 full minutes of laughter mixed in there too!

KBWomen Radio: Tomorrow, April 23rd, we have a wonderful guest lined up to join us on KBWomen Radio. Women's money coach, Barbara Stanny, will be with us to help women overcome under-earning. This topic is hot, and a limiting belief that many of us have so be sure to listen in! Listen live at 9:30am PST or to the archived show later at this link: www.blogtalkradio.com/KBWomen.

Blessings to you all!

Godly Business Women

Another successful KBWomen Radio show yesterday with special guest Chicke Fitzgerald! As co-hosts, we enjoy hearing from other Christian women in business from around the country to see what God is doing in their lives and what knowledge they can impart to others. Chicke is a travel industry expert and radio show host herself, as well as being a small business owner and Christian wife and mother. Her life is full, as many of us can relate to, but she remains strongly connected to God.

As businesswomen, we need knowledge and networking. As Christians, we need fellowship and encouragement. Consider becoming involved with the Koinonia Business Women's organization, where faith and business merge! http://www.kbwomen.com/.

Great Local Businesswomen's Meeting!

Hello friends,
We had a wonderful time at our live Olympia Koinonia Business Women's meeting last night. Welcome to new attenders Chris Creekpaum and Diana Wise! Our discussion touched on what Christian businesswomen want and need, how we can create opportunities to network together, more about KBWomen Radio, what business skill building topics are of interest right now, as well as answering individuals' questions about their current business challenges.

Tammy and I met last weekend to hash out some upcoming plans for the Koinonia Business Women's organization. Although we are both busy entrepreneurs with other ventures, Koinonia Business Women is becoming something we must focus on (and want to!!) to develop the organization's huge, exciting potential. This is truly where our hearts are! Out of our meeting (and last night's meeting) came several things:

  • Koinonia Business Women will become a membership-based organization. Several added-value benefits are listed below.
  • Spend more time promoting members on KBWomen.com, e.g., every member will have profiles on KBWomen.com (search engines seem to like our site and current members have been 'found' in search results because of their ads in our *BLING* e-zine or because they were listed as a 'featured member' in *BLING*).
  • More emphasis on networking with each other.
  • We may create workshops for members, by members, to attend free (others can pay to get in) on important business topics, skills or other fun business expo events.
  • Members will receive audio files with great faith-based business info from experts who we interview.
  • KBWomen Radio may switch to 45 min rather than 30. KBWomen Radio has some AMAZING guests scheduled for 2009.
  • Create specific business owner groups to do deeper, individualized business strategizing.
  • Set up an online prayer request system.
  • Have a "members only" online community.
  • Start our live group #2 in the Tacoma area.
  • In the future, we will launch KBWomen's groups nationwide/worldwide.
Thoughts? Comments? We'd love to get some feedback on these ideas. Even if you are reading this from somewhere other than Western Washington, there are ways that you can be involved with Koinonia Business Women! Sign up to receive our e-Zine called *BLING*, listen to KBWomen Radio (schedule), sign up for our business builders mastermind/business strategies group (meets via webinar/teleseminar), advertise your business or service on KBWomen Radio, in *BLING* or on our website, or consider starting your own Koinonia Business Women's group meeting in your area (coming soon). No expertise required, you just need to invite people and love on them!

Thanks!
Krista & Tammy
