God Ideas

Last week, I got the privilege of seeing Creflo Dollar speak at the Christian Faith Center Vision '09 Conference. Excellent! One of the really great nuggets of truth I walked away with was on the topic of resources and time management.

If you are an idea person (like Tammy and I totally are), you get good ideas all the time. The problem is knowing which to implement! As business and ministry people, there is only so much time, resources and money available, so we can't "do" everything. Therein lies the dilemma... Which ideas get focused attention and become activities to work on and develop?

About 3 years ago, Pastor Dollar said he swept through his ministry eliminating every "good idea" that was taking up resources, time, volunteer hours, money, etc. Seem strange? It did to me as well, until he followed it up with this thought - Allow only the God ideas to remain.

If we can catch hold of this simple thought, it could transform our businesses, careers and ministries. Allow only the ideas and activities that God ordains and anoints to remain. The God ideas will flourish. The God ideas are predestined to succeed. The God ideas will bear much fruit. The God ideas will bring you the most satisfaction. The God ideas serve his purposes on the earth. I don't know about you, but I think I have some "house cleaning" to take care of...

National Women's History Month

March is National Women's History Month! We just heard some interesting statistics about women in business in our country. Did you know that 10.1 million business "firms" are owned by women? Also, 1 in 5 firms with revenues over $1 million dollars are owned by women? These statistics are from the Center for Women's Business Research.

This tells me that women are a huge, driving force for business in the US! At Koinonia Business Women, our members are women business owners, but also women in various kinds of professional careers. Although these ladies in professional careers aren't owners themselves, they still serve to boost the businesses they work for and the business world as a whole.

If you would like to join a community of other Christian women in business, you can start out by receiving our *BLING* e-zine! Just in case you're wondering what an "e-zine" is... E-zine is short for electronic magazine. We send our e-zine out twice a month via e-mail. We know you get lots of e-mail (so do we). Thankfully, *BLING* is a refreshing, fun and inspiring item that arrives in your inbox!! To view archived *BLING* e-zines, go to www.KBWomen.com/e-zine.htm.

International Women's Day

Hello Koinonia Business Women!

In honor of International Women's Day, we'd like to do a post along with many other women bloggers today.

As we know, the role of women in business, in homes, in parenting, in government, in churches, and every other environment has a huge impact. After some recent contemplation about being a mom and the role that mothers have in families, I realized that both men and women have important roles when it comes to demonstrating the character of God to their children.

Could the combination of what a mother brings and what a father brings to parenting complete a picture Godly character for their kids? Women tend to show unconditional love, creativity and nurturing characteristics, while men build up, display leadership and instill discipline. The marriage relationship itself shows other characteristics of God too, such as faithfulness, forgiveness and commitment.

Women - Take up your role with pride, knowing that wherever you are and whatever you are doing for God, you are adding value to the lives of others!

God's Rifining Fire

Welcome!

Have you ever dared to pray a prayer like this? "God, send me through your refining fire and strip away anything in my life, heart, thoughts, activities, relationships, unforgiveness, $ spending, or anything else that isn't part of your plan for me. Whatever needs to be removed, whatever is blocking my spiritual progress, anything encumbering, all of my bad attitudes, etc., please help it fall off of me. Refine me."

That is a serious prayer - one that God would want each of us to pray. That prayer is applicable to us for our businesses and goals too. There is a new contemporary Christian song that says "Make me aware". God will make us aware of things that need to go, step by step. It's our job to release them and renew our minds!
