Pray for Washington State Event

Yesterday, Tammy and I attended the "Pray for Washington State" prayer rally at the State Capitol Campus in Olympia. This event was organized by Christian Faith Center of Federal Way/Everett. It was amazing!

As I walked up to the event with my kids, I noticed a few things. First, it was hot! The weather was beautiful, which helped bring out many people to the event. Secondly, downtown Olympia was packed because of the annual Lakefair festivities that last all this week (just a few blocks away). Even the campus itself had all kids of things happening simultaneously. NASA had some sort of gathering, a large kids camp was picnicking and a group of people had a frisbee game going. That was just our one small section of the Capitol grounds! Thirdly, I noticed the personal investment that the prayer rally crowd had. They showed up. They were into it. They were ready to pray passionately. Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised by Gov. Christine Gregoire's support of the rally. She spoke for several minutes, and even used the phrase "our Lord Jesus Christ" in her closing. The whole crowd responded positively, and awakened hope in many concerning our State's government.

The Spirit of God moved in that crowd as the pastors (several from various churches in Western WA) took turns praying for various aspects of, and people groups in, Washington State. It was a great experience to be a part of.
God, hear the prayers that are offered in this place.
Blessings,
Krista
